Founder of MCPS in Decatur, GA, Kelli C. McLeod-Roy, LPC, NCC, CPCS has over 16 years of providing counseling and psychotherapy to clients. She has helped her clients be successful in overcoming a variety of issues. Kelli began her career at the Pennsylvania State University where she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2000. While actively working in the behavioral health field, she continued her education focusing specifically on the art of counseling and psychotherapy. She completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling in 2004 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Kelli’s experiences include the treatment of a broad range of psychiatric conditions in a variety of therapeutic settings. Kelli has provided counseling services in outpatient counseling settings, inpatient hospital settings, emergency department settings and court services settings.
In these settings, she has provided individuals therapy, relationship therapy, group therapy, mental health assessments, treatment and discharge planning, and referrals. Kelli began her private practice as a solo practitioner in 2009. She expanded her business and re-branded the business now known as McLeod Counseling and Professional Services (MCPS) and began to bring other talented counselors into her practice in 2018.
Kelli uses an integrative approach when working with her clients. She meets clients where they are in their process of change and utilizes approaches that will best fit the client's learning style, while challenging her clients to develop new skills and insights. Kelli's fundamental practice orientation is cognitive behavioral with an infusion of mindfulness and psychodynamic interventions that augment her work with clients.
Over the course of her professional career, Kelli has added training and experience in related helping services to her expertise. These include the provision of clinical supervision, divorce mediation services and divorce mediation training for psychotherapists and counselors.
